Before to became a printable FDM filament, but after being mixed with all the natural ingredients, the Kanèsis materials are made in the shape of granules.
The granules are the input of the moulding processes (injection or blowing) to create all the daily-use plastic objects.

Processing hemp hurds into a fine powder and combining it with PLA, we obtain a natural brown color and an improvement of the traction effort, maintaining a good elasticity.
Harvesting hemp stalks by a wheat thresher, there is a waste consisting of flowers and leaves: these are sieved, standardized and joined to PLA, which become more elastic and acquire a characteristic green color.

From the pruning of the orange trees: wood sawdust, pieces of peels and orange leaves. This gives to the material a brown color tending to dark orange and a greater resistance to deformation.
From the industrial processing of the tomatoes of Vittoria (RG), we collect and standardize the skins waste adding them to the PLA, giving it a characteristic red color and certain mechanic properties.
FILAMENTS
Hemp Filament
Hemp Filament: PLA matrix + Hemp shives
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Resistance to deformation 30% more than the common PLA. (Young modulus of canapulo improved by 30% compared to the initial PLA)
Weed Filament

Weed Filament: PLA matrix + Hemp buds waste
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Percentage of elongation at break approximately 9%, taking into account that with HempFilament it results 4.5 while with normal PLA it results 6.
Tomato Filament

Tomato Filament: PLA matrix + Italian Tomato waste

3D PRINTERS
The S3D PRINTERS are desktop machines that work with Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. Our Printers are DELTA-type, this typology was designed to speed up the process.
These machines operate with Cartesian coordinates. This involves a round printing plate that is combined with an extruder that is fixed at three triangular points. Each of the three points then moves up and down, thereby determining the position and direction of the print head.
Le S3D Printers are self-replicating: every printer is able to realize copies of itself.
Their smooth design, and the reduced number of components offer a perfect fitting in your domestic place!
